John Walsh Jr and Friends: Friends' Bands/Links
Friends' Band Websites
- Stanley Maxwell Band
- Check out this really great group of improvisors. Hard to find bands that sound fresh like this and who aren't gimmick-oriented. Good musicians, good compositions- One of the great drummers you may not have heard yet- ANDY CHATFIELD. Find out how to get their music on their website!
- Airborne Jazz- New Haven musical fun
- Another group that were indirectly part of my musical upbringing around college age and after, as Steve Clark plays and played bass with them. Check out Steve's link in this list, too. I'm not an expert on their group history, but I've worked with Greg Borino in different situations, and both he, his brother and the folks they keep company with are another part of the rich pool of CT talent that deserve our audience attention and interest. You won't be disappointed! Their mix of smooth jazz, world music, R&B and the spirit of improvisation will win over just about any listener because they are musical and lyrical even when there is no vocal.
- Steve Clark- more fresh Connecticut Music out of Bridgeport way!
- A long-time Connecticut Bassist who should be heard by everyone in the community. One of my local musical heroes as I grew up, Steve and his music is still all there for everyone to enjoy! Get to his site with this link and check out all the Funk you can stand! Also you'll find All Steve's info- including how to get his music at CDbaby.com. Check him, folks! You won't regret it!
- Drop City Band
- Mike Yorgensen & Company's new site. A mix of covers from these days and the days of SHED. Fun rockin' band! Check 'em out!
